Kurt Dirt & The LoveRats

By Chris Rockson

A stagnant music scene of indie clothes horses, screaming pre pubescent "blahh blah core" children and folksy
beige wearing singer/songwriters Have shaken us away from being glued to jeremey kyle on our torn, beer stained
sofa's, and forced us to take action against the forces of taste, decency and style...

Kurt Dirt was Formerly the lyricist / flamboyant frontman of glam punk Hooligans The  Exorsisters who after 5 years
of wreaking havoc all over the country  supporting bands such as The Damned (making captain sensible a fan
in the process) Buzzcocks and The Wildhearts and even at London's 100 club with Paul Roberts of The Stranglers
the band finaly self destructed like so many great acts do.

Not to be deterred, Mister Dirt hooked up with long time friend and Musician Stephen James Buckley to record
material,  raw, energetic, and downright filthy enough to live up to The singers name. Quickly ditching the idea
of visiting a high tech, high price studio recording began in Buckley's flat using a basic drum machine, plugged
in to a guitar amp, whatever musical instruments the terrible two could borrow, and for the first time Kurt sang as
he always did in the 'sisters rehersals - thru a guitar amp!

Now after moving to the city of liverpool, home of his sister 'Zombina' of 'the skeletones' and recruiting a Sewer
load of rock'n'roll Rats, Kurt Dirt & The Love Rats have come to reclaim the streets with their wild,
John waters influenced stage show. Shoe gazers Beware...

I'd been given a sneak preview of Kurt's latest demo's a couple of weeks ago. Fresh from the studio, and back with
vengeance, he's out to prove himself once and for all. The sounds are reminiscent of early punk bands, and the later
glam outfits from the downtown sewers of Manhattan, bands like the Harlot's of 42nd St, the Dolls and
Ruby & The Rednecks. 'Rock n Dole' tells the story of Dirt's existence in the early daze, catchy lines and powerful
straightforward rock deliver the message, loud n clear! 'You're the kinda girl that makes me wanna hurl' -
screams 'Lovesick', sounding like a unholy marriage between the Stooges and Sigue Sigue Sputnik.

Hopefully, from this, he can move forward and get some stability and show the rock world what the Love Rats
are made of, 'cos from these demo's there's more than a taste of what's to come!!
