Imagine a time travel machine ride back to mid 1975? No I-Pod's, I-Pad's, Computers, Laptop's, digital this and digital that, not even an Internet!! Sound like a nightmare?

There were some stand out, life changing records made in 1975, one being Alice's first real solo album, minus the original band members, and following some massive chart success. Working on his 'idea of a character', they combined energy to create the vision that we know affectionately as 'Alice Cooper'. They wrote the songs and styled his appearance on the twisted stage monster that is portrayed.

The album was a huge success in terms of opening up a whole generation to theatre-rock, and stage production on a grand-scale. It also spawned some absolute masterpiece's of song writing, both musically and lyrically.

Ok, enough already....ready for that ride? You fucking bet! Alice Cooper's brand new release, out today, Welcome 2 My Nightmare returns us to his inner world of characters such as 'Steven' with some familiar names on-board too, Steve Hunter and original band members, Denis Dunaway, Michael Bruce and Neal Smith collaborate on this follow-up too.

It gets off to a familiar start with the creepy piano lifted from the original release and into 'I Am Made Of You' which kinda sets the tone for the next forty minutes or so. It's typical of Alice to create something remarkable, and he's hit the target yet again with this one!!

It's not all Rock n Shock, as some of his post-Nightmare releases have been, there's even a disco track on this one and surprisingly good duet with singer Ke$ha, 'What Baby Wants' [playing] as well as some more 'traditional' rock numbers. Cooper makes no apology for her inclusion on this album, and why should he? Always one to create a stir and laugh in the face of normality, Alice reigns supreme, and there's never been anyone close!

This is definitely one for the library folks!
