Rebellion 2008 - Texas Terri Bomb

By Chris Rockson

Wild At Heart - Texas Terri  on stage at Rebellion 2008

I have often thought, during Terri's previous shows at Rebellion [ and Wasted before that..] that she is the most amazing front-person I've seen..ever! and this show was no deviation from that thought line...What a Fuckin' Showperson!!!

There are plenty of female-fronted punk rock acts out there, some are great, some are plain awful....Terri, on the other hand, is super-human! How does one put so much into a live set that only lasts 35 minutes or thereabouts? I dunno...Jayne's shows were pretty intense, they still are, but NOTHING compares to this...this is Iggy on Speed!

The Set-List ran like this :

Lifetime Problems (by The Dicks from Austin, Tx)
One Hit Wonder
Raunch City
Never Shut Up
Dirty Action
Mafia
To The Top
Dream Wrecker
Oh Yeah!
Situation
I Wanna Be Your Dog

Texas Terri Bomb at Rebellion 2008, Beano, Terri

The band has gotta be worthy of a mention too...what a kick-ass outfit they are! They played with ease and rocked the house down. Beano thrashed his Bass and owned the stage, Marina hammered her drumkit like her life depended upon it, never missed a beat and uber cool guitarist, Olivier, strutted his stuff like the ghost of Johnny Thunders. Together, a lethal combination, backing the most energetic rocker there is....did I say that already? Fuck Yeah!

Terri and her band ripped the stage apart with 'One Hit Wonder' and the classic overdrive of 'Dirty Action'....she's built for speed, she's built for action...and when they blast our minds with 'To The Top'...with it's awesome line, 'to the top, to the top, to the top of what?' the audience, massive in size and anticipation of what was to come, were stunned, like being hit by a huge right hander from Tyson....there was no stopping Terri now...she had them by the balls!

Finishing off her set, to huge applause and cries for more, they played a wonderful, if not slightly slowed down version of Iggy's classic, 'I Wanna Be Your Dog'.....I'd heard it played by a couple of acts during the course of the festival, but this one was easily the most authentic and powerful.

Texas Terri is a living legend, easily accessible to her fans and such a genuine person, she deserves some success. Next year can't come around quickly enough - See y'all down the front!!
