Texas Terri Bomb - Live
By Ivana Lent

Texas Terri leaves quite an impression on her crowd tonight. The finale was a baring of her ass to her loving crowd, that had swelled to a significant size by the time she took to the stage in the Arena at the Rebellion Festival in Blackpool.
Terri, backed by her band had to showcase a new guitarist, replacing long-standing Olivier, who moved on earlier in the year, hammer out a strong set, in usual TxT style. The soundman has got it spot on too, as the bass line thumps out for the start of another classic show in the UK. Having a good sound engineer makes all the difference, as immediately prior to Terri's show, we witnessed what happens when your sound guy has a bad day down the office. Poor Choking Susan! Normally, Colleen & Co deliver a lightning set and always leave you wanting more and more...but today, the beat bombed out! So it was great to see him/her back on form to create the right mix for Terri's show.
She looks stronger, fitter and re-energised this year, and there is more of a 'heavy-rock' feel to the songs. Down to addition of a guitarist that favours a Flying V as opposed to Olivier's more simplistic approach with his youngish Johnny Thunder's look and matching Junior, but that said, they are the same tunes, just sound different.

The set at Rebellion is always a tricky one, as there are obvious restrictions in place due to the sheer volume of acts that play each year, so Terri chooses her songs carefully. The right blend of classics, such as the wonderful 'One Hit Wonder' and 'Raunch City' mixed with the best version of 'I Wanna Be Your Dog' that you'll hear outside of an Iggy show...it all makes for a very entertaining evening. This is pure rock n roll, nothing more, nothing less....played by competent musicians, and enjoyed by the fans...is there anything else?
It's all over too quickly for me, as Terri leaves the stage to rapturous applause, I want more, and more, and more. Maybe the promoters of this Festival Weekend will realise that she deserves a higher billing than this?? Maybe, maybe not....let's live in hope!
