Takin' 5 with the Zag !

     Zara and Red!!

     Zaggered Epoch started life about one year ago emerging from the run down 
     industrial heartland of Manchester. Over looking the Manchester City football  
     stadium,two people come together with the sole purpose of creating music that 
     is original and unique. 
     The beautiful and enigmatic Zara Z joined forces with the aging anarchist 
     Red Hammer.Their idea was to create a sound that was more of an artist 
     expression than a musical style.
     Using the latest technology Zaggered Epoch set out to prove that music creation 
     was in the reach of every person that wished to be creative. 
     All they needed was access to a PC and some cheap software and you could 
     create your own sound. Thus proving their theory that technology has liberated 
     the creation of music from the grips of the so called expert. 

     Zaggered Epoch can not be categorised, but some say they are an 'Indie' band, 
     while others say they are 'techno' or 'industrial techno' or 'techno/
     industrial/drum&bass'..
     Their debut album, 'Tortured Soul' hits the streets at the end of February '08.
     It includes some of their most popular tracks such as 'Feel Pian', 'Slap My
     Face','Don't' and many more. For Zaggered Epoch their sound is the medium 
     through which they express their art. They are more interested in the creation 
     of art through sound, than the creation of 'music'...
     Zara said' Our music is not 15 minutes into the future, it is the future!' Red
     Hammer explains 'Our music communicates with the unconscious mind, 
     the depths of the soul, the dark side of your mind'

     Where are you currently based?
 
     Manchester. In a run down working class area of Manchester called Ancoats.
 
     Though Zara was born and bred in Manchester and was brought up 
     in an area called Crumpsall!
 
 
     What do you like best about being a musician?
 
     Not having to go to work!
 
     What's your onstage set-up?
 
     Don't really know what you mean! We make a lot of noise and jump about a bit!!!
 
     Who influenced you the most and why?
 
     Ordinary people! Cos their lives are real and their struggles to make ends meet and
     survive in an hostile environment is a credit to humanity!!
 
     'Peoples live are interesting and I can Identify with them. Not like all this
     celebrity shit, I don't care what happens to them so called celebrities! most of
     them are wankers!' -> Zara!
 

   
   Do you have any recordings?
 
   We have our album out right now called 'Tortured Soul'. It's on Amazon, e-music,
   iTunes, Rapsady and some other online stores that I can't think of at the moment!
 
   'We have two more albums ready for release and are working on our fourth one at 
   the moment. We just love to create music!' ->Zara
 
   Do you have any planned gigs / releases?
 
   No gigs at the moment planned 'cos Zara is in her final year at University and 
   needs to concentrate on her college work to get a good final degree!
 
   But when she has finished her degree we will be playing gigs. We have plans to play
   some gigs in China!! Which will be cool!!
 
   Do you have a favourite venue / city? Why?
 
   Our favourite city is Manchester 'cos it is so cool for art and music and for
   football of course. Zara lives near Cities ground, she over looks the stadium.
